Citrix Workspace app incorporates the full capabilities of Citrix Receiver and lays the groundwork for new capabilities for future Citrix releases as well as the comprehensive Citrix Workspace.
Specific lifecycle milestone dates for each release of the Citrix Workspace app and Citrix Receiver are posted within the Lifecycle dates for section. The products follow the typical lifecycle policies described in more detail on the pages. Citrix Receiver, now Citrix Workspace app, adopted a new release strategy starting with XenApp and XenDesktop 7,15 LTSR.
General guidance regarding lifecycle milestones for each release strategy is defined below. Citrix Workspace app is not eligible for the. Citrix Workspace app is supported only on operating systems versions that are supported by their manufacturer. Current Releases Lifecycle Citrix applies the following product lifecycle strategy to Current Releases (CR) of Citrix Workspace app and Citrix Receiver on all platforms: Current Releases (N) will typically reach End of Maintenance (EOM) after the release of new Current Release (N+1). Desktop versions of Citrix Workspace app such as Citrix Workspace app for Windows, Mac and Linux are typically released on a quarterly cadence. Maintenance will be provided on the latest Current Release.
Current Releases will reach End of Life (EOL) 18 months after the release date. The product release dates are noted on the Lifecycle dates section. Citrix Workspace app for iOS, Android, UWP, Chrome and HTML5 customers that remain current in a receive 24x7x365 worldwide support for the version of Citrix Workspace app that is currently available from the respective vendor app store.
Code-level maintenance is provided with the next version made available in the respective vendor app store. Long Term Service Release Citrix offers Long Term Service Releases for Citrix Receiver for Windows as a benefit of Customer Success program.
Citrix will designate a specific version of Citrix Receiver for Windows as a Long Term Service Release (LTSR) version. Each LTSR version will have a three-year lifecycle. The active maintenance period will end when the next LTSR version is designated. A new LTSR version will be designated approximately every 18-24 months. During the active maintenance period, a regular cadence of Cumulative Updates (CUs) will be released. These CUs will typically contain fixes, devoid of new functionality, allowing customers to retain the same base version for an extended period of time.
The release of a CU for an LTSR version will define a new maintenance baseline and customers will be required to move to the latest CU to receive continued maintenance. After the End of Maintenance (EOM) date for a specific LTSR version, no new Cumulative Updates will be provided for that base version. Citrix customers will be required to upgrade to the new LTSR base version established which might contain new functionality. This program is limited to Citrix Receiver for Windows and is different from the program. The current LTSR version for Citrix Receiver for Windows is 4,9.
